Orientation Day

So, ten of my eleven students showed up for orientation, got their books, some bad coffee, and schedules, and they're ready to start school. It's always such a relief to have three month's worth of work culiminate so well. I'm proud of each of them. I try to remember how utterly incompetent I was in my late-teens; scared, but trying to act brave and assertive. Thankfully, I had my parents to support and encourage, something many of my students don't have. In a way, I become a surrogate parent to them. I'm the cheerleader and supreme motivator. In three months, I'll do it all, again.
